I recently wrote some cybering tips for those of you who want a little online fun. Today, I have a special guest post from Andy at the Webcam Sex Advice Blog that gives you some amazingly helpful tips about cybering! Check it out:
As a species, we’ve been blessed with the wonderful capacity to escape our day to day doldrums and enter into a world of fantasy and erotic adventure. Yes, our imagination is a wonderful implement, one which plays an important role in helping us discover our inner sexual identity.
Our need to explore and experiment is what drives many of us to the world of interactive porn, or as it is more commonly known, cybersex . We crave this parallel reality where we can let go of our inhibitions and experiment with different fetishes and kinks in a safe and consensual manner.
The advent of social networking and the ever increasing speed of the internet are fueling a renaissance in the interactive sex industry. Whether you’re a voyeur, an exhibitionist, or maybe a bit of both, the web now offers a plethora of services geared towards helping open minded singles and couples who want to hookup and share online. Consumers are tiring of the repetitive nature of traditional adult offerings; they still want their porn, only now, they want it in an interactive format.
Like sex in the real world, cybersex must be practiced with safety in mind. You must never loose site of the fact that you’ll be broadcasting a video feed that can be captured, recorded and shared, regardless of how much you trust your partner in crime. With that in mind, let me share some safety tips to help keep your online activities private and anonymous.
Keeping Your Activities and Identity a Secret
The first step is to secure your play area. Having a lock on the door is a good first step. You might not want roommates or family walking in as you demonstrate your latest sex toy to the unwashed masses. That could be somewhat awkward.
It’s also important to secure your personal space. Are there any pictures, posters or unique works of art which could potentially identify you? Scan the room and move such items out of your camera’s field of view.
Perhaps the most important issue you’ll need to deal with is your personal privacy. For obvious reasons, it’s important to never reveal your true identity when playing with strangers online. Take some time to consider what your personal comfort level is. Some people prefer to only reveal themselves from the neck down, while others enjoy role playing with sexy masks, wigs and lingerie. This is all about exploring your fantasies in a safe manner, so make sure you’re comfortable with the limits you set for yourself.
Securing Your Internet Connection
Your next step is to secure your computer connection. If you’re a regular cybersex practitioner and wish to prevent others from tracing your IP address, you might want to consider using an internet proxy to shield your online activities. Such software will encrypt your communications and hide your online activities from both strangers and your internet service provider. We recommend using a service such as HideMyAss.com to secure your communications.
And finally, if you share your computer with friends or family, you’ll want to erase your personal browsing history and system cache. There are several great products that will do this for you, and we personally recommend using CCleaner. It’s free, and very effective at erasing all traces of your illicit online activities. It also works with all major browsers.
Webcam sex can be a lot of fun and a great way to meet new people. It’s important to remember that cybersex is all about fantasy, and not a substitute for a healthy, real life relationship. You only live once, so make it count.

This is a really neat post about cyber safety. This stuff should be taught in secondary schools, far to many young adults are getting into problems when cyber chatting, especially on chat rooms and more recently social networking sites… This is also something that maybe parents should be taught to prevent any issues with their teenagers and their activities.
I love the advise of keeping site that anything you broadcast can be captured and shared, this is the only downside to cyber in any form, and no matter how much trust you have with the other person on the end, there are always that 1% chance that they will be recording and saving a video of you.
I have some ground rules of my own regarding this, Firstly i always get to know the other person first. Once you both feel happy in taking to the next level, then I would start with just general conversations via cam… Never rush into things that you may later regret. Once you both reach the level and understanding of what each other wants out of the cyber, then take it to the next level. I always suggest role-playing games, where you both have to dress up with masks, or some way that covers at least 3/4s of your face, and never take the mask off during the cyber session. Also, before starting the cyber, set basic ground rules that must never be broken and remember if the other person even tries to break one of the rules, you have the stop button to your cam, it is there for a reason so use it without a moment thinking.
My past experiences with cyber has been great, and that is because I got to know the other person first, spent time getting to know them over a week or a little more, the rules were set and i made sure that if I was being recorded, no one would be to recognize me. Also a few things to add are these… try to use a room with plain walls, this way if somehow a video ends on the web and someone who knows you sees it, they won’t be able to easily link the room with you. Always wear clothing that you hardly if ever where outside the home, and if you are able to, style your hair differently, or if you are like me who wears glasses, take your glasses off. Basically try and create a double of yourself that is completely the opposite of you., if you will, create a double life that is only used for cyber, that way if someone who knows you stumbles across a video of you, they won’t easily recognize you and hopefully will never realise that it is you.
Okies to end, I will give my favorite piece of advice, if you yourself finds a video that features you in it, you can report it to the owner of the site that you have found it on, also, if you are lucky, the video will have a link to the site that it was originally uploaded on. IF you know who has recorded the video then you can report them to the local police, but only if you know the person and their full name, or their address or any details that can be used to trace that person.
