Almost a year later, the Top 100 Sex Bloggers of 2008 list is still getting a lot of traffic. It was reposted on over 50 sites and linked from even more. Some of the top keywords that people use to find my site on search engines include “top sex bloggers” and “best sex blogs.” In other words, it is a page that’s highly viewed.
Since opening nominations for the 2009 list, I’ve gotten a few emails asking if I was going to sell advertising on that post (specfically on the post, not just on the sidebar where there is already advertising). My initial reaction was no, that this isn’t a list to make money, its just a list for fun. But maybe selling advertising wouldn’t be such a bad thing for the list if I give the proceeds to a sex-positive charity. Hmmm…
So, I’m thinking about it. I’d love to hear all of your opinions via a comment or email. Keeping in mind that the proceeds would go to a good cause, would you be opposed to seeing ads on the list? Would you buy an ad on the list?

Hmmm. Are you talking about ads for sex toy sellers? I think it would be a good thing so long as they didn’t expect that when other bloggers re-post the list, that their ads would be there as well.
I don’t see how most sex-bloggers could argue with anything that would raise money for a quality charity! Given the questions I’ve been receiving lately from teenagers who text in to kgb, I think it should go to some charity who teaches young teenagers about SAFE sex. Forget about abstinence, if they’re gonna do it, they’re gonna do it. But they don’t know how to be safe.
I think it would be a great idea! With funds raised and given to a charity everyone benefits. Personally I would purchase an ad if the price was reasonable.
Can I suggest linking the 2008 list in the post? For those who haven’t read it before
If it’s for charity I don’t think it’s a bad idea at all. How wonderful that you’re willing to do that…
I think charitable donation is fine plan. How would the charity be determined?
Rori:
I’m one of those people who stumbled across your list. Then I started exploring your site… then I couldn’t find the list again and had to go BACK to Google!
Might you consider adding a category or link that woudl allow us to find ALL your sex blog content? Might you consider providing a link to how one might submit? There are some great blogs out there (like Mollena’s) and I’d love to encourage those folks to get on your list!
Whew! What a commitment you make!
