I’m approaching my official one-year mark here at BMS (the older entries were ported here from a website I used to run on a blogging network). Deciding to make the switch from to running my own website was one of the best I could have ever made. Not only do I have freedom, but I’m also not putting money in someone else’s pocket.
Unfortunately, I’m not putting money in my own either.
When I moved here to BMS, I added a lot of advertisements and affiliate programs. I even sold ads at the end of posts. Those have all melted away. I realized pretty quickly that this isn’t a commercial website. This is my life…and I’m honored that you all here reading it (yes, even YOU – my readers who “lurk” but never comment).
The problem is…I’m at a point where I can’t afford this site anymore.
With the economy tanking, people aren’t hiring me like they have in the past…and all of my “extras” (like the hosting for this website) have to melt away so can pay for things like heat and food. So this is the part where my face gets really red and I almost hit the “delete” button.
My Christmas wish is to have enough money to pay for hosting for this upcoming year, with maybe a little extra to pay for some of my mounting debt. I know. I know. Everyone has bills. Everyone has Christmas presents to purchase. But if you have a little extra…consider stuffing my stocking with a dollar or two? If you enjoy what I write here, please at least consider it.
I’m not asking for flat-out donations. I’m willing to give you something for your contribution to this website! Here’s what I have to give…you get a choice!
~ I can send you a Christmas picture ESPECIALLY for you (ie, I won’t post it or share it with ANYONE for you, and yes I, do take requests – anything except my face!).
~ I can write a personal “fantasy” post featuring you and I. You can make a request for a specific situation if you want or I’ll come up with something really fun. (I’ll either post it here or email it to you – your choice).
~ I can give you an hour-long chat section in which I’ll answer any questions you ask. I used to write a weekly dating and relationships advice column for a syndicated news outlet, so this actually does have some value! Note: You must have Yahoo IM, and no, I don’t have a cam.
~ I can give you space on my sidebar for a whole month to advertise your website, give a shout-out to your sweetheart, or…do whatever you want!

I really love and respect every one of you. I’m so happy that you’ve all decided to come with me on this journey so far, and I really hope this isn’t the end. I need to raise about $180 to pay for hosting…hopefully I can do that over the next few weeks.
