As you may have noticed, I removed the #1 spot on the 2010 list. I didn’t move everyone up a spot, because I feel like that would be unfair and it wasn’t my original intention for everyone to be a rank higher. So, that means there’s no #1 for 2010.

But let’s talk about why.

People have been throwing accusations around for a fairly long time that “Alexa” at Real Princess Diaries was actually not a sex worker and was lying about her/his identity. And you know what? I still enjoyed the site. So did a lot of other people. I don’t lie about who I am here, but my identity as “Rori” isn’t my whole identity, that’s for sure. I keep a lot private and yes, I’ve fictionalized some things about my sex life or relationships or past. I think most sex bloggers do.

So when people started coming to me with concerns that Alexa didn’t deserve the number one spot, I brushed it off. I hadn’t heard about this drama in the past. Hey, I’m not a detective and when a blog gets nominated for this list, if it isn’t in the last 10 posts or so, there’s a good chance that I won’t know about any accusations, drama, etc. going on associated with the blogger. Frankly, this isn’t some kind of professional list. I’m just a sex blogger who likes other sex bloggers, so I make an annual list of good ones that y’all should check out. In case you haven’t noticed, when there’s drama happening in this blogging niche, I’m very rarely around. I tend to stay out of things.

Anyway, back to the issue at hand…

I don’t care if you make up a fictional personality for your online site. Seriously, flat out lie to me if that makes you happy. I don’t really care. It’s just erotica and sex toy reviews and the like.

But I do care when there are very, very real accusations against you about underage interactions. This was something that NO ONE complaining about Alexa as #1 ever brought up to me (Unless it was in the huge list of links somewhere, written in a story at some point. I gave up on reading all the links people sent me.). Every referred to her/him as a fraud, content thief, etc…but sex sites involving children are a completely different story. That’s something that makes me sick to my stomach. Please note: if you did mention this in your email to me at some point yesterday, I’m sorry that I missed it. I recieved over 100 emails regarding not just Alexa but the list in general, so it’s entirely possible that I missed this information in someone’s email. For that I’m sorry.

And I’m a big believer of “innocent until proven guilty” – but it seems as though Alexa has taken Real Princess Diaries offline, with a statement that it will not be back…so that makes my job really easily. I don’t need to get to the bottom of this. You can’t be on my top sex bloggers list if you don’t have a sex blog.

Again, I know a lot of you are upset that “Alexa” isn’t a real person, but for me, that was never the issue. My list was about good writing, sites I enjoyed visiting, blogs I found entertaining. Me removing her as #1 is about something much deeper, something that was finally brought to my attention in combination with her removing her site, which is to me a statement that she doesn’t want to defend herself or tell her side of the story.

Also, I still fully stand behind what I posted yesterday as a response to the list fall out. 1) I don’t like to take sides when two people are giving different versions of the same story, especially when I don’t know either person. 2) I’m not going to move someone higher on the list because they update more often. 3) I don’t care if you’re more popular, this isn’t a popularity contest. 4) I respect your right to your own opinion. Please respect mine. Make your own list of top bloggers if you don’t agree with me – that only makes the community stronger!

But if you’ve reposted this list on your own site, please remove the #1 spot and link to this post instead. After a lot of soul-searching, I feel like it’s the right thing to do.

Feel free to discuss this in the comments below, but as always, please be respectful. Disagreeing is always ok. Name-calling is not.

Today has been entirely too much drama. Some people involved have been extremely courteous. Some people have been dicks.

The issue? There’s two, actually. Both involve people who others feel don’t deserve to be on this list, for whatever reason. I’m not going to go into the issues here, but they’re both highly emotional ones.

I respect that.

At the same time, I’m not involved in any of it. I don’t support either side because frankly, I don’t know anything about it. And I’m not a detective. I’m not a court. And this isn’t a list of “the best people in the world.” This is a list of the people that, in my opinion, have some of the best sex blogs, blogs I like to read and enjoy visiting. For some, it’s because I think they give good advice. For some, it’s because I enjoy their erotica. For some, it’s because I value their reviews.

And then requests started to roll in, asking me to remove so-and-so or so-and-so from the list or else they wouldn’t promote it. News flash: I don’t make this list because I want you to promote Between My Sheets. I make it because I like highlighting some of the blogs I like to read. And, I asked others to participate as judges so everyone could have a little bit of a say.

After taking to D, who’s opinion I rate extremely highly, this is what I’ve decided:

1) No, I will not remove you from the list. This is MY list of favorite bloggers, and it feels like a farce to alter it after I already made the decisions about whom to include. If you contacted me and asked to be removed, I will remove the link to your site so there’s no confusion as to you being a supporter. If you want the link to be put back, I’m more than happy to do so at any time, because frankly, that was the point of the list – to link to people I like. It’s silly to not want others to come to your site because you don’t like someone else also on the list. But in any case, this is MY SITE and I get to support whomever I want, even if that means you don’t support what I’m doing in return. (Think of it this way: If I created a list of the worst sex bloggers, nobody would want to be included – but I still have a right to voice my opinion.)

2) I’ve also included a note that the people on the on the list are not necessarily supporters of this list, so you don’t have to worry about that. You are under NO obligation to repost this list, link to it on your sidebar, etc. whether you were listed or are just a reader. You never were.

3) Next year, this list will go back to being judged 100% by me. I tried to make it a community thing, but when judges have differing opinions, it seems that people get mad. So next year, you can go back to blaming just me and it will become purely my list once again.

4) Comments on this post are closed because none of this is open for debate. Comments everywhere else will remain open, but if you do any name calling or otherwise leave comments that I don’t think are appropriate, I won’t let them go live. That’s my prerogative as the owner of this blog. Disagreeing is fine, but please do it with class.

This is my blog. I get to post what I want. If you don’t like reading it, that’s ok, because there are a hell of a lot of people out there who do, and no matter how much hate I get from you, there will never be hate from me. I respect your decision to be a part of the Between My Sheets community – or to not be part of the Between My Sheets community – and I have no ill will toward anyone who makes the choice to never visit this site again.

When Adult Sex Toys contacted me about reviewing some of their sex toys, I jumped at the chance to request some interesting items that I haven’t tried out before. They sent me a big box of fun stuff, and I promptly got sick an spent some time in the hospital. With orders not to raise my blood pressure, which means no masturbating. Awesome.

But now I’m back in business, baby, and for my first Adult Sex Toys review, I wanted to write about something that I absolutely love – the OhMiBod Music-Driven Vibrator.

First, some specs: The OhMiBod is 7 1/2 inches long, about an inch round, and made from phthalates-free plastic. It comes with a nice pink bag for storage and two ends. The one I have attached in the picture is the end that you can connect to your iPod or other mp3 player, computer, phone…basically anything that plays music. The other end, which is the little silver cap you see, is for vibrations without music.

I was skeptical. Extremely. The OhMiBod has been out for awhile so the novelty of a vibrator that connects to your iPod has worn off. I usually like a thicker vibrator and something with ridges or texture, not the slim, smooth vibrator that comes with this system. And, I thought, how good could it actually work?

Oh. My. God. OhMidBod is an appropriate name! I tried it with both my smartphone and my computer, and it works great. When you fine-tune the settings to have the sound at about 75 percent, the vibrator picks up on every little beat of the music, varying in speed and intensity along with the song.

I loved it. Loved. And I didn’t expect that to happen. I’m a pretty hard sell on new vibes, as I always have a trusty few that I enjoy. This one is now not only in regular rotation, but is pretty much a go-to if I want a vibrator.

The other end, which allows you to enjoy vibrations without music, is also fun, though with that part of the vibrator, I have a few gripes. There are multiple settings, which is nice, but you have to cycle through to find the one you like. It isn’t as simple as it starting with the lowest intensity and working up to a higher intensity. They have settings that pulse in different fashions, which is really nice. I wish it was a dial or multiple buttons instead, though, so I could go right to the setting I want, rather than having to cycle through trying to find it.

Something else that might deter you from buying the OhMiBod is the strength of the vibrators. While I do this this is in the average-to-strong range for vibrators, because it is such a slim shape, it doesn’t feel as intense as other vibrators. For me, that’s not a problem, but if you’re someone who loves strong vibrations, it could be.

I could see this as being a really cool couple’s toy or even a D/s toy. You partner could make a list of songs for you to use when you’re playing with this toy. It’s also slim enough that you could probably use it while fucking too, which would allow both of you to feel the vibrations, though the cords might be a bit cumbersome. If you did that, you’d need to connect to speakers instead of headphones – make sure you have a long enough cord so things aren’t being pulled down while you’re moving.

Would I recommend the OhMiBod? Yes, to almost anyone. It’s a really high-quality product, but you can find it for a fairly affordable price. Right now, Adult Sex Toys is selling the OhMiBod for 44 percent off the original list price of $74, putting it at around $40 instead – and that’s an awesome deal for something of this caliber. Christmas is coming, fellas. Why not treat your leading lady?
